ABOUT ILLD
ILLD is a non-profit organisation dedicated to bridging the critical gaps in Pakistan’s social and educational landscape. We create a unique ecosystem where youth and seniors support each other, turning vulnerability into mutual strength.
By providing merit-based scholarships and structured mentorship, we transform social isolation into a unified engine for national growth.

Why ILLD
After working for decades in the higher education industry and non-profit sectors, the founders realized that traditional systems often miss critical aspects while providing financial support, so we are determined to address the following major gaps through ILLD.
The Social Capital Gap and Directional Gap
For first-generation learners from underprivileged communities, education is the engine meant to break the cycle of poverty, but being the first to cross that line comes with an immense, invisible weight. These students carry the hopes of entire families who often place heavy expectations on them from the very start of their journey. Yet, despite this pressure, they are often left to navigate the professional world without a map.
While scholarships may cover tuition, they rarely bridge the gap to true career success. A degree from a lower to middle-tier institution often fails to open the doors these students were promised, leading to a deep sense of disillusionment after years of hard work.
ILLD steps into that gap. We believe that a lack of connections shouldn’t limit talent. By linking young talent to elite networks, industry insights, and the career and life guidance they’ve been missing, we ensure that their hard-earned education actually translates into the future they and their families have sacrificed so much to reach.
The Intergenerational Ecosystem
Our current social landscape is increasingly fragmented, treating different age groups in silos and effectively cutting off the natural flow of knowledge between generations. As society undergoes rapid digital transformation, many seasoned professionals and retirees feel socially invisible and isolated. Meanwhile, younger generations often miss out on the invaluable wisdom and “unwritten rules” of industry that only come from decades of experience.
The youth and the elderly currently exist in parallel worlds rather than a unified ecosystem. ILLD seeks to dismantle these artificial barriers by transitioning communities away from age segregation and toward an integrated social engine. Our model facilitates reciprocity where every age group functions as a vital, connected component of the whole—ensuring that the rich insights of the past fuel the youthful energy of the future.
A Sense of Social Responsibility
Scholarships alone do not instill a sense of responsibility. When aid is viewed as “free money,” it can create a psychological sense of being merely at the “receiving end”. At ILLD, we foster accountability by ensuring our scholars move from being beneficiaries to active contributors in their communities.
